Abstract:
The World-Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Resource Description Framework (RDF)
provides the foundation for metadata interoperability across different
resource description communities. This talk will give an overview of RDF
and show the benefits to the digital library communities. A critical look
of the limitations will also be discussed with a view to the path
needed to reconcile the needs of metadata versus current technologies.
The role the XML-based Schema languages will also be discussed.
